Tri-County Soccer League Families, 

As we prepare to open registration for the upcoming Tri-County Soccer League season, we want to share an important update that will affect some players in our league. Beginning this fall, TCSL will follow the age group formation guidelines set forth by U.S. Youth Soccer. This means we will strictly abide by the August 1 through July 31 birthdate cycle for age group formation. TCSL has always used this age group formation but, we have allowed some exceptions along the way. This will not be the case any longer. We understand this change may impact some teams and families. However, we believe aligning with U.S. Youth Soccer and Missouri Youth Soccer Association on age group formations is the right decision for our league and will provide consistency moving forward. 

Some players will be affected by the change in age groups. We have tried to give everyone plenty of time to make the necessary adjustments ahead of next season staring in August. Teams are assigned to an age group based on the age of the team’s OLDEST player. If you intend on keeping the majority of your team together through next season, please be prepared. Some players may then be required to play-up to a higher age group in order to keep their team together entirely.
